인터넷 도박으로 수천만 원을 잃자 경찰서장 명 의의 공문서를 위조해 도박사이트 운영자 은행계좌를 정지시키고 돈까지 뜯어낸 일당이 경찰에 붙잡혔다.
서울 관악경찰서는 강모(40)씨 등 4명을 공문서위조, 공문서위조행사, 위계에 의한 공무집행방해, 전기통신금융사기 피해방지 및 피해금 환급에 관한 특별법 위반, 공갈, 도박 등의 혐의로 구속했다고 3일 밝혔다.
경찰에 따르면 한 인터넷 도박사이트를 이용하며 알게 된 이들은 이 사이트에서 수천만원 이상을 탕진하자 이를 되찾을 계획을 세웠다.
우선 지난 1월 관악경찰서에 '싼 이자로 대출해주기로 한 사람이 수수료만 받고는 돈을 빌려주지 않았다'고 거짓 신고해 '사건사고사실확인원'을 발급받았다.
사건사고사실확인원은 교통사고나 절도 등으로 피해를 봐 경찰에 신고하고 조사를 받고 있다는 점을 증명하는 서류다. 일반적으로 휴대전화가 도난돼 보험처리를 하려고 할 때나 보이스피싱을 당했을 때 많이 발급받는다.
